Let's Wander Off The Beaten Path Together
We grow stronger when we let our minds wander.

“The beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people” – unknown
That’s it. This quote sums up my inspiration behind Culture Vibrations.
Hello, my name is Liana, I’m a Journalist by trade and a wanderer in my spare time.
I’m no J.R.R Tolkien buff but something he said resonates with me: “Not all those who wander are lost.”
In fact, before I started wandering, I was lost. The more I started drifting, exploring, roaming off the beaten path, I’ve encountered stories, experiences, a world outside of my own that has helped me to discover myself. This journey of self-discovery is ongoing and will never reach a destination – that’s what I love about it.
From my perspective, we learn more about who we are when we immerse ourselves in other cultures. We are all connected.
The most obvious method is through travelling; it allows us to engage in different cultures, try new traditions and change our routines. Travelling helps us to see the world through a different lens and when we return home, we take that knowledge with us.
But not everyone can afford to travel abroad, so we find other ways to reap the rewards. For me, that’s reading books and talking to people. So, I’ve decided to create an online community hub where we can celebrate and learn about each other without having to book a flight.
The name came from the idea that if we share our human stories, we can send out vibrations of love, compassion and empathy that will not only connect us but strengthen our own humanity and understanding of the world. It’s also a way to preserve our histories from human perspectives instead of through political lens.
Maybe it’s the journalist in me, but I imagine my mind to be like a partially opened door, each time I talk to someone and learn more about their life, that door widens.
This is my way for us all to connect.
I’ll be posting an article every Sunday. In my next post, I’ll be delving into my own heritage and what path led me here. I hope you enjoy this journey of human discovery as much as I do.
I’ll leave you with a photo of me as a wee child when my family lived in Scotland back when there were physical photographs and no phones 😁
See you next week!
